If you have not heard NYC 2023 is taking place in the great city of Tampa Bay, Florida July 2023. NYC is a life-changing event for Nazarene students that takes place every four years!! Those going into or graduating from high school in 2023 are eligible to attend (current 7th -11th graders). We want to invite you to join our first district NYC information meeting on April 21st from 1:15-2 pm. This meeting will be a part of the Intermountain district assembly at College Church of the Nazarene. I would strongly encourage you to attend. At this meeting, you will learn a lot more about this trip and all the details needed to begin getting students to register. At this meeting, we will also give you the Intermountain NYC dates (the dates of the Conference are July 5-9)
So the big question is, what is the cost to attend NYC this time around. As I am sure you are aware, the cost of just about everything has gone up over the past four years, and unfortunately, this has impacted NYC as well. So NYC 2023 will cost $1950 for both students and sponsors (an increase of $175). In an attempt to encourage more students to attend NYC the district will not be subsidizing our sponsors; we encourage local churches to help subsidize their adult sponsors. This allows us more flexibility and freedom for churches to bring along as many sponsors as they need (1:8 ratio minimum). We encourage each church that sends students to NYC to also send a sponsor along with them to experience this event first hand.
Now for all the fun stuff!
· Registration will be online this year and will “go live” in July 2022.
· All payments need to be made through the local church. With a church check (no personal checks) made out to Intermountain NYI, and sent to Zach Schulz, Tree City Church. Payments are non-refundable but may be transferable to another student in the district (if available). Please stay current with the payment schedule as there are fees and deposits that will need to be made throughout the year.
· Any student registration received after October 15, will assume a $150 late fee.
· January 15th, 2023 is the absolute final day for registrations to be received.
NYC is an amazing event that you will not want to miss. We encourage you to begin promoting NYC ASAP. I am excited for this event and look forward to having you and your young people involved in NYC 2023. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
